Peak District – Winter Camp at Crookstone Knoll on Kinder Scout

This weeks mini Peak District adventure was a last minute winter wild camp at Crookstone Knoll on Kinder Scout. I spotted a nice little weather window so packed my kit and headed to Hope. I walked up via the Roman Road to Hope Cross as fast as my legs could carry me as it was a race against time. I had initially planned that I would be up at my camp spot ready for sunset but sadly time was against me during the day and I had set off a little later than I wanted to. Peak District – Walking – Alport & Win Hill

It's very rare that I walk at weekends, not because I'm alergic to the crowds but mainly due to family commitments. Thankfully I managed to make it to the parking spot, getting kitted up and Read more [...]

I'm a sucker for a pine forest and this one in particular is one that I day dream about while at work. I know this type of forest isn't native to the area, I know some say the pine is a blot on the landscape, I just can't help falling for the serenity and the relaxing feeling down there by the river. As always we arrived at the car park at Birchin Clough Read more [...]
