Some of you may have heard me talk recently about my involvement with a bunch of videos that Terrybnd has been filming. Well today is the day that the first fully finished movie went live on YouTube. The videos were made for Karrimor and it showcases some of their great new gear. It also shows off some great locations in the Peak District too.

It was a big 24 Mile day that takes in Derwent, Stanage, Burbage North, Burbage South, Froggatt, Curbar, Baslow, Gardoms and Birchen Edges. I initially thought that this would sadly end up being a walk free week, work and other commitments had conspired against me it seemed. Thankfully situations and arrangements changed so I had Saturday free to go off and do whatever I wished. I had read an article a few weeks ago about a route called the 9 Edges Challenge, it was a charity event run by the Edale Mountain Rescue Service. I decided that i would give it a go as I’d got the whole day free, I opened up ViewRanger in my iPhone and began plotting a route. I
Well, I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas break. Sadly I had to work the majority of it but never mind I work shifts so it’s always rough with the smooth. Now that things are starting to return to normal, its high time I get back to planning where and when I’m going to walk this year. I have plenty of grand plans flying around in my head but I decided to start with something small and close to home. Stanage and Bamford Edges to be more precise.
I had been planning to walk these two edges for some time,
I’ve just got home from a rather grim, grey, wet but still rather enjoyable walk along Stanage Edge in the Peak District. We had initially planned to wildcamp in the forests near Ladybower & Derwent Dam as we had been promised some nice sunny conditions by the MetOffice website, sadly they didn’t materialise at all so we decided to knock it on the head and save it for another time. ]]>
