Peak District – The Derwent Valley Heritage Way

The Derwent Valley Heritage Way is a 55 mile route tracing the course of the River Derwent from Heatherdene to Derwent Mouth. The river begins up at Swaines Greave near Bleaklow and then flows down in to the chain of reservoirs in the Upper Derwent Valley. It flows in to Howden, Derwent and then Ladybower before emerging to meander south towards Derby. Peak District – Mountain Biking – Parsley Hay & Millers Dale

In this video I met up with my mate Andy at Parsley Hay on the High Peak Trail with my mountain bike, we had decided to follow a route he had done before that was plotted in his Garmin 800 GPS. It takes in some great locations and some nice bits of downhill too, my bike isn't 100% up to the job but Andy's Santa Cruz Bronson was more than ready. This is a rather large video of a great ride along the High Peak Trail on a glorious sunny day. I was armed with my GoPro Hero 3 Silver Edition and I managed to capture some of the highlights along the way. We started at the High Peak Junction and cycled to the northern end and then back. Middleton Top The Peak District has a wealth of routes to take, interesting spots to see and has historical tales by the bucket load. I do feel lucky to live within a close proximity of this great national park and I'm reminded how lucky I am on a regular basis.
