Peak District – Mountain Biking – Parsley Hay & Millers Dale

In this video I met up with my mate Andy at Parsley Hay on the High Peak Trail with my mountain bike, we had decided to follow a route he had done before that was plotted in his Garmin 800 GPS. It takes in some great locations and some nice bits of downhill too, my bike isn't 100% up to the job but Andy's Santa Cruz Bronson was more than ready. We set off from Parlsey Hay up the High Peak Trail, then took the Pennine Bridleway down in to Chee Dale. We then climbed back out of the valley and joined Read more [...]

Peak District – MTB & GoPro – Chatsworth Circuit

The day began with Ray and I arriving at Rowsley in the pouring rain, we met up with Andy who had brought his new Santa Cruz Bronson out to play. The route we were taking started from near Caudwell's Mill and the first ascent of the day came straight away when we headed up the lane towards Lea Moor Wood past the Peacock pub. Peak District – MTB – Ladybower Loop & Hagg Farm Descent

In this video my mate Andy and I head out on the bikes around Ladybower. We set off from Fairholmes and headed north along Ladybower, Derwent and Howden dams to Slippery Stones and the back down the eastern side to the Ashopton Viaduct. We then proceeded along the southern side of Ladybower before crossing the Snake Road. We then headed up hill to enjoy an awesome spot of downhill back to Fairholmes. Keep your eyes pealed at 15mins 15seconds 🙂 At the end of the video I have included a quick Read more [...]

Peak District – MTB & GoPro – High Peak Trail

This is a rather large video of a great ride along the High Peak Trail on a glorious sunny day. I was armed with my GoPro Hero 3 Silver Edition and I managed to capture some of the highlights along the way. We started at the High Peak Junction and cycled to the northern end and then back. The best bit by far was the downhill section at the end from Middleton Top to the Cromford Canal... Enjoy 🙂 Read more [...]

#MicroAdventure – Bike & Bivvy – Ashover Derbyshire

I love an adventure, anywhere, anything, you name it, I'll give it a whirl. I always really look forward to getting out and about where ever my bank balance and time off work will allow. A 1 or 2 week trip in Scotland walking Munros, a long weekend in the Lake District ticking off a few Wainwrights or half the Pennine Way ;-). However, it doesn't always have to be an "epic", that word is ridiculously over used now days it seems. Just a single night out will sometimes do, a walk in Read more [...]
